Coming Up This Week

Because of several things that have come up in the news and in the theaters, I’ll be pushing back my remaining blogs on our Montreal-to-Boston cruise aboard the MS Maasdam.  In an attempt at timeliness, I’ll be presenting my take on the Chicago En Route (ARTCC) Center fiasco and why those pushing for both consolidation and privatization of ATC are yet again being proven as off their collective rockers.  Also this week I’ll put forth one of my famous double-reviews.

This time I’ll be comparing The Equalizer:

Robert McCall versus . . .

to The Equalizer:

. . . Robert McCall

Fun Photo Friday — Out and About Bar Harbor Part 2

Testa's — A Great Place for Lobster

Testa’s — A Great Place for Lobster

Monday will conclude not only our visit to Mount Desert Island, Bar Harbor, and Acadia National Park, it will also conclude our look at this particular Holland America cruise aboard the MS Maasdam. I hope you’ve enjoyed our journey from Montreal.

It's a TRAP!

It’s a TRAP!

In today’s series you’ll see not only Bar Harbor and Acadia, you’ll find a new subject — Egg Rock Light — a lighthouse we encountered on our departure from Frenchman Bay and our turn south for Boston.

Red Rocks, Crashing Waves, and an almost Alien Landscape

A Rocky Start

A Rocky Start

On Monday we took a look at the forests of Acadia. Today we head for the shore and some breathtaking scenery.

Surf's Up!

Surf’s Up!

The skies were relentlessly overcast during our stay here, but somehow it seemed to fit once we got to the shoreline. I’m not sure I would have gotten the same “mood” if we had “lucked out” and gotten blue skies and bright sunshine.

A Cloudy Day

A Cloudy Day

About the only thing I could have wished for would have been rougher water and waves that crashed against the rocks with just a tad more energy. Nevertheless, I wasn’t disappointed with what we got that day.
