As I indicated in Monday’s article on Limburg, Germany, I’m going to be brief on the text this week and let the photographs taken on 24 May 2022 do most of the speaking. And to give you an idea how much there is to see and photograph in the medieval portion of this charming city, I’m captioning the time the photos were taken so you can get a feel for how quickly scenery comes up on you as you walk the streets here.
Today and Wednesday I’m just going to show off the sights around Old Town Limburg, Germany. Consider it a continuation of what we started on Monday two weeks ago with A Day in Limberg an der Lahn, Germany — Going Medieval on Foot and continuing through last week. As you may recall, following our second of back-to-back cruises aboard Vision of the Seas, we flew to Germany to spend time with our daughter and her family. This side trip was a brief hiatus before we continued to Utrecht, then headed off for three more cruises aboard Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas. We’ll begin that visit to Utrecht, Netherlands followed by that three-voyage series in a couple of weeks, but next week I have some cleanup to do — blog articles that will include some guns, a book review I’ve owed for far too long, and a diatribe on what to watch out for from so-called “experts” (a page administrator no less) giving bad, perhaps dangerous, advice on firearms on Facebook community pages.
Limburg — 24 May 2022 at 11:41 a.m.
On Friday I will complete this Limburg series with a Fun Food Friday restaurant review of lunch of a charming restaurant specializing in schnitzels. Until then, let’s continue with the theme for today and Wednesday. I’ve already shown you some Limburg highlights, and included brief descriptions. There’s not a whole lot more to add, text-wise, so I’ll be showing off locations and tagging them with time stamps so you know how close together these scenes are while you’re traveling on foot in this picture feast of a town.
Dom zu Limburg (Limburg Cathedral); 11:46 a.m.
Adjacent to and behind Limburg Cathedral you will find a castle comprised of several buildings — Schloss Limburg located at Mühlberg 2 in Limburg:
Schloss Limburg; 11:48 a.m.
Spires of Limburg Cathedral peering above Schloss Limburg; 11:49 a.m.
Limburg Cathedral; 11:52 a.m.
Time to leave behind the schloss and cathedral and head back to the southwest into Old Town:

As you can see from the time stamps, the scenery comes at you quickly when you stroll through the medieval portions of Limburg.
