Singapore in Pictures 13 — Singapore Botanic Gardens 1

Singapore Botanic Gardens

The Singapore Botanic Gardens is not only a wonderfully colorful photo stop, it’s also rather historic. For one thing, this garden dates back to 1859. For another, it is one of only three gardens worldwide to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And if that weren’t enough, it is the only one of the three that is a tropical garden. And as with all botanical gardens, there’s a lot of beautiful plants and flowers to view. So, I’ll be running photos of this destination for the next three weeks. Enjoy:

Fun Photo Friday — Singapore in Pictures 6

Singapore Color

Next week I’m going to show you a very different Singaporean explosion of colors, the Singapore Botanic Gardens. After that I’ll show you a very modern Singapore unlike most of what you’ve seen so far. Until then:

Singapore in Pictures 12 — Ethnic Neighborhoods and Street Scenes 4

Sri Veeramakaliamman Hindu Temple

Last week and this I’ve been showing you the various ethnic neighborhoods of Singapore and giving you a glimpse of the various street scenes that await you in this vibrant and colorful city. Most of the photos taken in this next subseries of articles were in Chinatown, Little India, and Kampong Gelam (also called Kampong Glam). As you can see above and below, Singapore is a unique blend of the modern and the old. I hope you’re enjoying the visual tour. Most of today’s photos concentrate on Little India:
