Mediterranean Cruise 2022 — Murcia Cathedral
As you can see in the photo above, once again we’re treated to a Baroque façade with elements of Gothic and Renaissance architecture as well. And this one is quite magnificent and incredibly ornate. In short, the exterior of this church has it all. I probably could’ve spent an hour more here just concentrating on the details, but the tour would not wait. So, you’ll just have to content yourselves with these images:

Mediterranean Cruise 2022 — Murcia, Spain; Casa Consistorial and Catedral de Murcia
After our tour left Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fuensanta, our next stop was the nearby city of Murcia, Spain. And our first sight in Murcia after alighting from the bus was the Murcia Town Hall (Casa Consistorial de Murcia). This rather impressive edifice was built over a two-year period beginning in 1846. Stretched before the Town Hall are a fountain and flower garden, as you can see above and in these next two photos:
The grounds in front of the town hall are quite the sight:
To the right of the town hall is yet another large complex belonging to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cartagena. Here you’ll find a statue of Cardinal Belluga, who served as viceroy of Valencia and Murcia in the early16th century.
One last interesting view facing west before we move on:
Our next stop, just two minutes away on foot, was the Cathedral Church of Saint Mary in Murcia. Construction on this imposing church began in 1394 and wasn’t completed until 1465. We’re going to continue walking around this magnificent church on Wednesday. Until then, I’ll leave you with this taste:
