Heading Down Queen Street in Charlottetown

Charlottetown PEI

As you walk along Queen Street don’t hesitate to hit the side streets, especially those that run between Queen Street and Great George. You’ll find tree-lined walkways, street cafés, souvenir shops, and even stores dedicated to Anne of Green Gables.

As for Queen Street itself, make sure you spot the sculptures that adorn it. There’s a bench upon which sits the likeness of Sir John A. MacDonald, Canada’s first prime minister and one of the founders of the Canadian Federation:

Farther down you’ll stumble across a bronze Great Blue Heron:

Once you’ve followed Queen Street back to the water’s edge hang a left turn and loop around the Delta Prince Edward Hotel (and what appears to be a connected convention center of some sort). That will bring you to Peake’s Quay with its myriad shops, cafés, and even one of Charlottetown’s ubiquitous Cow’s Creamery ice cream parlors.

Heading northeast along the shoreline Ursula and I made our way back to the MS Maasdam.  Click on any image below for today’s slide show:
