This week and next I will present images and videos of Dubai. Today will feature a short version of the daily magical, music-synchronized Dubai Fountain show on the manmade Burj Khalifa Lake, which is situated beneath the Burj Khalifa. The Burj Khalifa has the distinction of being the tallest structure in the world, but more on that Wednesday.
Some fun stats on the Dubai Fountain situated in the 30-acre/12-hectare artificial Burj Khalifa Lake:
Length: 902 feet/275 meters
Height: Shoots water up to 500 feet/152 meters
Capacity: Can spew up to 22,000 gallons/83,000 litres simultaneously
Nighttime shows are illuminated by 6,600 individual lights and 25 projectors
Fountain shows are synchronized to music ranging from classical to contemporary
Back for another try at this week’s Mystery Destination Quiz? I’ll be revealing the answer tomorrow, but if you’ve figured it out beforehand just leave a comment. Before we get to today’s clues and destination photos (there will be four for you today), let’s continue with this week’s other random subjects: Dramatic Skies, Automobiles, and Desert Color. We’ll start with some cactus color:
El Paso Desert Flora
And transition an El Paso desert sunset:
I Love My Backyard View
Let’s take a look at another favorite car. I once owned a roadster version of this next automobile, which I drove for a decade or so:
Early MGB GT
Hmmm…. I notice both of today’s automobiles are English in origin. And both originate from the 1960s. I wonder if that’s a clue to this week’s Mystery Destination? Or were they meant to deceive? Just in case, I’ll give you three automobile(?) hints in today’s clue list:
Automobile Clue #1: Mini Moke
Automobile(?) Clue #2: Rover
Automobile Clue #3: KAR 120C
Character One(referring to KAR 120C): “I know every nut and bolt. I built it myself!”
Character Two’s reply: “Then you’re just the man I need. It keeps overheating in traffic. Perhaps you’d care to advise me.”
Remember the clue earlier this week about featured numbers? Try this infamous exchange:
Protagonist: “Who are you?”
Antagonist:“The new Number Two.”
Protagonist:“Who is Number One?”
Antagonist: “You are Number Six.”
Protagonist: “I am not a number. I am a free man!”
Antagonist: [Hearty, diabolical laughter]
The ending of this hit show was so controversial that the star/creator/producer had to flee his home country and relocate to Switzerland.
“Be seeing you.” Tomorrow, that is, for the Big Reveal.
Figured out this week’s Mystery Destination yet? I’ll present some more hints and photos at the end of today’s article in case you haven’t. In the meantime, here are more random photos of this week’s other subjects: Dramatic Skies, Desert Flowers, and Automobiles. Let’s begin with a car which may or may not be a clue to the location of the Mystery Destination:
