Fun Photo/Food Friday — Cobh Area Favorites and Titanic Bar and Grill

I mentioned in Monday’s article that it was lunch time. We asked about fish and chips, and were directed by the locals toward several possibilities. In the end, we decided upon the Titanic Bar and Grill, which just so happens to be located in…

… wait for it…

… the Titanic Experience Cobh, a museum on some ship disaster back over a hundred years ago.

This place was so good that, when we returned to Cobh of Voyage 2 (covering beginning next week) aboard Jewel of the Seas, Ursula and I opted to go back. Oh, and don’t worry that Voyage 2 is a repeat of this first voyage. Cobh was the only repeat in that itinerary, and I didn’t take the camera with me on that outing.

Titanic Bar and Grill offers both indoor and outdoor seating. On this first visit we opted for indoor. But I did head out onto their outdoor seating area for this quick shot:

Decisions, decisions:

When it comes to making decisions about Irish ale, however, that choice is already made for me. It’s always a pint of Smithwick’s Red:

As you may have anticipated, I went with the fish and chips:

Yes, the fish was delectable. Perfectly crisped and wonderfully tasty. The fries and peas were perfect accompaniments. Here’s a closeup of the star of this show:

Ursula loves seafood chowders. Her’s contained cod, salmon, haddock, and smoked haddock in a rich white wine cream sauce.

Today’s article concludes Voyage 1 aboard Jewel of the Seas. Next Monday I begin a series on Voyage 2 featuring Scotland, Wales, and England. We also went to Belfast and Cobh on that trip, but I’ll be skipping those since we already covered them in this series.
