On 15 May 2022 Vision of the Seas arrived in port at La Seyne-sur-Mer, putting Ursula and me in close proximity to Toulon. Before taking the ferry to Toulon, however, we decided to first hit the streets of La Seyne. It’s about a 20-minute walk west from the cruise terminal to the marina you see pictured above. A few minutes more and you’re on pedestrian streets with many street vendors:
This area is easy to find. It’s just north of Église Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Voyage (Church of Our Lady of the Good Voyage):
From here you want to find Cours Louis Blanc and head west for the market:
Ursula and I continued west on Cours Louis Blanc until the pedestrian street merged into Pl. Germain Loro, whereupon we reached Institution Sainte Marie Maristes, a Catholic secondary school:
Across the street you’ll find this gathering place:
And to the right of that, as you head back, is Campus Connecté La Seyne sur Mer, which I gather is a satellite college facility:
And next to that campus is this rather fun, colorful mural:
Time to head back to the marina. We’ve a ferry to catch so that we can cross Rade de Toulon (Toulon Harbor) and walk the streets of Toulon. On the way back to the marina we found some charming street scenes:
On Wednesday I will show you the sights around Toulon.
