Today is a final look at the Three Rivers Petroglyph Site and some of the more interesting petroglyphs and scenery.  Don’t forget to continue eastbound about four miles to find the Niño de Atocha Church.

But before you do, don’t forget to take the hike into the main petroglyph site along the ridge.  There you’ll find depictions of such exotic creatures as the rare Desert Penguin.

Or a tribute to the time the Mogollon successfully fought back the invasion of the giant mouse from Anaheim.

The Mogollon were also very prescient, displaying knowledge of future sports teams hundreds of years into the future.  Here below is a Mogollon petroglyph showing the typical aftermath of an St. Louis Rams game.

Today we continue our tour of the Three Rivers Petroglyph Site north of Tularosa, New Mexico.  On the road to the petroglyphs you will find all type of scenic beauty, from desert vegetation to mountains in the distance.

You’ll also find on this short drive off U.S. 54 eastbound that charming Western film standard, The Little Red School House.  This one dates back to 1904 . . . either that or 1904 was the street address.
