Old Montreal is a real delight to photograph. There are just so many opportunities here. And if you thought Notre-Dame Basilica was old, Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel will appear absolutely ancient in comparison — dating back to 1771, five years before the Revolutionary War.
Once you tire of walking Old Montreal, don’t forget to stroll over to China Town for some great Asian food. Yes, it’s close enough to walk.

Lovely photos, as always. I recall that Old Montreal was a lot more francophone than the city centre. In the city centre, you could get by with English, but in Old Montreal French was clearly preferred. Luckily my French was still sufficient to order some drinks and food.
Thanks, Cora. I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures.
I don’t speak French, but Ursula does. She also speaks German and dabbles a bit in Italian.

So true. So very, very true.
