Another museum we visited exposed us to the beauties of historical Chinese Art. This would be the Shanghai Museum.
The multistory Shanghai Museum is split into several galleries, and it would take days to see them all so you must be selective. The galleries include:
- Bronze
- Ethnic Chinese Minority Arts and Crafts
- furniture of the Ming and Qing dynasties
- Calligraphy
- Ceramics
- Coins
- Jades
- Paintings
- Sculpture
- Seals (or Chops)
Since time was limited and there was much to see I concentrated on the Jade, Ceramics, and Furniture Galleries.
Not everything of photographic interest resides in just the galleries, however. Take a look at this stunning end cap on the staircase:
