And the War Eagles Keep on Coming

Continuing with that road trip in the roadster from last week, we once again stumble amongst the classic aircraft on view at the War Eagles Air Museum.

Hope you’re not yet tired of seeing all these great vintage aircraft.  I know I never get tired looking at them.

One note of interest reference the inverted gull wing you see on the Voight F4U Corsair (of Baa Baa Black Sheep/Pappy Boyington fame) — that interesting design feature had absolutely nothing to do with aerodynics and everything to do with providing enough ground clearance to keep that massive propeller from hitting the ground.

Umm, isn’t the maker of the Corsair named Vought?
